Alan Emery on Haymaking
We were very understocked until about 1955 and so that we had grass, grass, grass, grass, grass and we made loads of hay that year, loads and loads and loads of hay and when we filled the bales up to the top, we could stand on the top and put the roofs on.
That solved that one largely and we were still using some of that hay, 1945 hay, six years later.
