Talking of eggs, I remember washing the eggs, which is not heard of today, ready to take them into the Egg Marketing Board which was just across the road from Newport Market.

I remember washing buckets full for granny and putting them into the large egg trays.

How much did they take? About 48 eggs or something like that, and stacking them up ready to go to Market on Tuesday mornings.
