Beryl Flux

Arthur Mew | Christine Broom
Beryl was born in Elm Grove, Newport left school at 14 and turned down a position as an under nanny for Lady Ruthene at Bembridge to join the Land Army Office.
She carried out all sorted of jobs on the land and later with her husband, Bun (Bernard), ran a pig and dairy farm in Chale Green.
Later moving to Southford Farm, where she and her husband, kept dairy cows, pigs, chickens and ducks, as well as wheat and barley.
