John Attrill on Milk

Not all that time ago there were 260 or something milk producers in the Isle of Wight. Now there are less than 10, so that’s the way it’s gone.

Mind you, in the old days some of them had six cows and sold their milk around the village.

Good luck to them.

Now, you know people have 100s.

I gave up my cows in 1995 I think. I had a 100 and something then, but I didn’t think it was very promising but I was then getting  about as much per litre as they get now, so how the  hell they survive I don’t know.
