Well yes, pre-War the hay was built into ricks with an elevator and the elevator was powered by a horse walking round and round and it was the boy’s job to see that the horse kept going so that was one of the jobs that I remember with haymaking.

Well it carries the hay up and tips it onto the rick and you know a thing with prongs on and revolving chain with prongs on it.

Yes that was something that always came out at haymaking time (laughs).
