Donald Emery on Tractors
Most of them were still using horses, particularly during the War of course because they weren’t making tractors and the one we had on the farm was in fact a pre-war model and then after the War, we had another couple.
The difference was the one before the second World War had full mudguards, so you could sit on them if you were riding on the tractor, not driving it, but the ones they made after the War only had a little narrow mudguard so you couldn’t sit on that.
We didn’t like them (laughs).
